Polyethylene is one of the largest and most widely used plastic varieties, accounting for about 30% of the world's total plastic production.

Among them, LDPE, HDPE and LLDPE known as the third generation polyethylene are thermoplastic general plastics, only uhMEPE with a molecular weight of more than 1.5 million, due to excellent physical and mechanical properties and as an engineering plastic application. Polyethylene with a molecular weight of more than 1.5 million is called "UHMWPE" according to Philip Oil. Hoechst of Germany, Hercules of the United States and Mitsui PetrochemicalS of Japan are the world's top three companies producing UHMWPE, with the main manufacturers in China being the Beijing Additives II plant and the Shanghai Takahashi Petrochemical Company Chemical Plant.
